Hi:

How to update my app? should i add auto update features in my app, or auto updated by device itself?

Thanks.

Hi shijigroup,

Once you submit app to Pi App bank and if it is live or rejected then you will get option to resubmit which will update existing version to new version. It is more similar to updating app in Android Playstore if you are familiar with android apps submission.

Thanks,

Another note, Pi app bank can't push updates to Alberts. It is merchant (user) responsibility to check for app updates in Pi App bank. If there is an update then merchant has to click on Update button to download updates.

Hi Admin:

I does not learn about play store.
If no features about update contains in app, and a new version is accepted by app bank, should the albert device auto remind user to update app? or auto update app in albert device?

Thanks.

Hi shijigroup,

No problem. We will help you to understand how update works in Albert.

It is mandatory to increase versionCode value (in build.gradle file) of app every time you update the app. No developer resubmit the app for update without any change in the code. All updates are published in Pi Appbank but they don't go to Albert on their own. Merchants have access to Pi App bank to install/update/uninstall the app from their account so they have to check their account daily for any app updates. In real time, every developer can get a report of merchant contact details who have installed their app from pi app bank. Developers are contacting the merchants when there is a critical update otherwise leaving it to merchants to check for updates.

Thanks,

Admin
